But oh my God, isn’t that nearly impossible? I struggle with it daily.
Oh, totally. I’m sure that’s why he said it, and why I’m here posting it. There’s also that wonderful piece about remembering that accepting and loving others does *not* need to come at the expense of one’s own self — at least not for long periods of time.
So I find myself asking where the balancing between loving myself and loving others comes. But I’ll tell you, if you get this one figured out, please, please, please let me know.
Tall order for most (if not all) of us.
Ian ~ Absolutely. I think it’s something to strive for, though, don’t you? Relationships intrigue me. I know you know this already, but it bears repeating. Love of and for self. Love of and for others. I hope I get it figured out one day, but if not, at least I feel like I’m making progress.
